Family Counseling

Family counseling services are offered by Susan Scholz-Rubin, Ph.D., Psychologist and Kevin Scholz, Psy.D., Psychologist, through the
Divorce & Family Counseling Center.
Divorce & Family Counseling Center, one of the four divisions of the Miami Counseling & Resource Center, was established in 1990, and
offers individuals and couples the opportunity to explore either rebuilding a relationship or giving serious consideration to
separation and divorce. Clients are assisted in making decisions, encouraged to work through feelings of loss, anger and fear, and
educated about the process and the effects of separation and divorce. We are especially sensitive to the needs of children and they
are helped to understand and express their feelings, communicate openly with both parents, and adapt to new situations such as
separate households and/or stepfamilies. The formerly married learn to live as single persons and as single parents, and to develop
the trust necessary to form new relationships. Divorced parents are also assisted in co-parenting their children in a healthy manner.
